The Commemoration of the Award of the George Cross to Malta and its people

The Award of the George Cross is an annual event that is celebrated in April by the Maltese Australian Association in Melbourne. It is commemorated at the Shrine of Remembrance and the Shelter of Peace. A number of dignitaries representing the Australian government and the Maltese community, honoured guests and members of the Maltese-Australian community attend the ceremony. The RAAF Band, cadets and scouts also take part. This event is very well organised by Mr. Benny Soler.
