Hi how are you all, I finally found your guest book. I just heard on the news that the Foreign Minister is to hold a 15 days symposium and a number of Maltese from all over the world are invited. The Maltese are no longer called immigrants’ but simply they are living abroad. All the Maltese which have dual passport are also Europeans’ and the idea of the symposium is to analyse what has been achieved and what more can be done. Well now I have Skype program and with the web camera we can talk freely through internet without extra expense all one have to do is down loaded and fill in the email. My email is (mngc@onvol.net) the best time is 2000 hours Australia time preferable on a Saturday. All the best to everyone Michael & Iris.

Great site Dr Borg, I was born in Msida and immigrated to Australia in 1955 at the age of 18 months on the Anna Salen in a country, we as a family were lucky we settled in a country town of Morwell Victoria where quite a number of Maltese families had already settled and quickly learnt the Maltese language and Traditions, I am still facinated with the country of my Birth with so much history, I have completed my family tree which goes back to 1638 and find it amazing that i have links back to GOZO, Finally hello to all our fello Maltese in other countries and keep in touch, keep the tradition going, Cheers from Down under.

Hi Dr. Victoria I wrote to you the other day in regards to the bottom of page photo of the sugar cane gang featured in Pioneers in Australia. I hold that photo very dearly as there is my paternal grandfather in it, Carmelo Bajada (Tad-Denfila) from Xaghra. He is the one sitting down in the front row with the dog on his lap. He used to be the cook/chef for his gang. And he was a great one also! It would be great if other people come across this photo and might be able to identify & name any other person/s in it, solve the puzzle, and have their names written next to the photo. According to my father there are other people from Xaghra & from other villages in Gozo in this photo. This photo is also archived in the Xaghra parish office. Look forward to hearing from you. Josephine (Guza) Bigeni

Just surfed Google and ran into your site Dr. Borg. Interesting views of Gozo, views I wasn´t familiar with. We were all from Valetta and came to the U.S. in 1951 when I was six. Both parents are now gone and I haven´t stayed in touch with relatives since I assimilated as a U.S. citizen early in life. Our surname doesn´t sound like a typical Maltese name. Since Malta had been overtaken by many different nationalities during it´s history, I believe we have a Spanish ( Spain ) connection. Regards George Sinerco

Hey!!!i just came on ur website through di-ve.com and its a very nice website...i am Maltese from Zurrieq but i recently moved to the US. I´m from the younger generations....born in 1983..and i must say that once you leave your home country...that is when you realise what you miss and what you took for granted while growing up. Malta will always be my home, even though i have established a home here in the US. I cannot wait to visit my family next yr during the summer time and i plan to take a thousand of pics!!!!! I also wish that there was as many maltese people in the US as there are in australia!!!!! I studied tourism in Malta...and i also work in tourism here in the US...many people dont know where malta is!!! but wherever we may end up in life, we should never forget where we came from and there is nothing better than keeping your culture alive =)
